
Lisa Teasley is a graduate of UCLA and a native of Los Angeles. Her critically acclaimed debut, GLOW IN THE DARK, is winner of the Gold Pen Award and Pacificus Literary Foundation awards for fiction. She has also won the May Merrill Miller and the National Society of Arts & Letters Short Story awards.
Her novels HEAT SIGNATURE and DIVE have been praised in publications such as the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times Book Review and Publishers Weekly.
Lisa Teasley is the writer and host of the BBC Television documentary, High School Prom; and is a senior editor at Los Angeles Review of Books.
As an artist, Lisa Teasley’s last solo retrospective exhibition, Paintrospective, was at the Marie Baldwin Gallery March 30 – April 27, 2019. Her last group show was LA Forum for Architecture and Design’s Every.Thing.Changes, August 8 – September 27, 2020. Lisa was also a member of the former art collective HOWDOYOUSAYYAMINAFRICAN, who debuted the opera “Good Stock on the Dimension Floor” at the Whitney Biennial 2014.
